ABOUT THE PROGRAM

As an Alliance Teacher Resident, you’re embarking on a transformative journey to revolutionize your path to the classroom. Our program fosters a dynamic learning experience by seamlessly integrating a yearlong apprenticeship with mission-aligned credential coursework. Teacher Residents will spend four days a week at Alliance school sites, gaining hands-on experience working with scholars, and will devote one full day a week to attending credential coursework classes. The Alliance Teacher Residency Program offers credentials in mathematics, English Language Arts (ELA), science, and Special Education. Upon successfully completing the program, Teacher Residents earn a Preliminary Credential and become eligible for a full-time position as an Alliance teacher, with a competitive first-year teacher salary. Alliance’s starting salary for teachers is $68,850!

  • We have partnered with Marshall Teacher Residency who has a values-based approach to teaching and learning. Our partner’s core beliefs of student-centered instruction, data-driven instruction, whole child education, and anti-racist education mirror our Alliance mission and vision.

With guidance and support from exceptional Mentor Teachers, Teacher Residents will benefit from absorbing effective instructional practices from Mentor Teachers along with the day-to-day realities of managing a classroom. Over the course of one year, Mentor Teachers will gradually transition classroom responsibilities to Teacher Residents, facilitating their professional growth and providing support along the way.

The Alliance Teacher Residency Program offers credentials in mathematics, English Language Arts (ELA), science, or Special Education. Upon completion of the program, qualified Teacher Residents will see boundless opportunities for advancement, including the chance to be placed in a full-time teaching position with Alliance College-Ready Public Schools!
