Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy 8 (ACRMA8) is a free public charter school that provides a world-class education, preparing scholars for college & career success through personalized learning.

We are conveniently located on the same campus as Alliance Morgan McKinzie High School, which offers our scholars the opportunity to begin their college-ready education in middle school and culminate at high school graduation – all on one campus!

Focused on the social emotional as well as the academic rigor, ACRMA8 opened fall 2014 to support scholars through a community of educators and families who are dedicated towards preparing them for high school, their next steps towards becoming college-ready!

  • Our scholars are on their way to being College-Ready! We offer a rigorous course load with school clubs that help scholars have a well rounded experience as they embark on the journey to get to and through college.
  • These include: anime, arts & crafts, choir, film study, Math Engineering Science and Achievement (MESA), Mexican/Chicano arts, retro art, running, scholar council, and even wiffleball!

Young Mi Kim

Principal Profile

Ms. Kim started her teaching career at The Accelerated School in South Los Angeles, where she taught middle school science and high school biology. Ms. Kim then moved to New York City and worked at Manhattan Hunter Science High School, an early college high school where students took both high school and college classes at the same time. She joined Alliance as a founding teacher at Alliance Leichtman-Levine Family Foundation. She later helped open Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy 8 by serving as an instructional coach for two years, working with both beginning and experienced teachers.
