The Alliance asked whether we could create schools using a rigorous education model which would curb the dropout rate and create a college-going culture. Could we help kids in underserved areas complete the A-G course requirements and succeed in college?
The answer is a resounding yes.
As we continue to open more schools, we see our students achieving and proving us right every day. Each Alliance school promotes a culture of high expectations for every student and our students are achieving more and more.
At a Glance:
- Five Alliance high schools have earned 2009 Academic Performance Index (API) scores that rank them in the top 16 high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District;
- Two schools scored higher than 800 and rank in the 10 top-scoring high schools.
- All Alliance schools outperformed nearby traditional schools by a range of 86 to 331 points
